I thought that was some kind of knock-off handheld console at first.

Nice. Did you get the pedals too?

Yep. I’ve had the pedals, a wheel, and a mount for a few months. I’ve just been wating on the wheelbase since that’s on backorder/invite code only.

.... no assetto corsa.... why? Also I just can’t make Pcars feel anything other than simcade. Pisses me off.

You lucky bastard. I’ve been thinking about getting that wheel, but the price scares me, the whole thing is worth more than my current setup. On the flip side, if I get this wheel I don’t have to buy a new shifter and pedals. Let me know how it runs.

Give it time. I’m only just starting out on PC. I’ve never done any racing on PC before and the only thing that comes even remotely close is Need For Speed World, and my shitty controller didn’t have much of an effect on my performance there because arcade game. Project CARS had been looking enticing enough for a long while, so I preordered that several months ago (sadly, shit controller made a difference there, and I can hardly drive anything without it spinning out).
iRacing I’ve been wanting to do for a few years. It seems like a pretty big thing, there’s tons of tracks, some pretty good cars, and some of the people from Group J Forza racing left for it a while ago.
Also, I’ve been dying to have a race against ncasolo.

The wheelbase plus shipping for me was $568.46, but that was with a special discount. Prices for everything are here: https://www.fanatec.com/us-en/
For the record, I got the ClubSport Steering Wheel Formula Carbon, the CSR Elite pedals, and a mounting clamp for the wheel base. I’ve also just preordered one of the Xbox One wheels. Sadly, I don’t think it’s gonna make it in time for me getting Forza 6.
Yes, this shit’s expensive, but it’s good, and it’s gonna last. I’m serious about building myself a sim rig, and this is just the first step.

holy balls thats expensive I wish they came out with a microsoft version like on xbox360 I bought one used for like 100 and I loved it. seems all the decent force feedback wheels are at least $300 I will get one eventually I dont even like playing forza 5 with a controller so I hardly play it.

I think the only other alternative out there is the wheel from Thrustmaster.

Trust me, get assetto corsa. It took me over a year before I broke down and got it, and now it’s the only thing I can play.

Holy crap this thing has some torque. I’m not sure if I just need to adjust my settings, if the thing is just that strong, if the physics in Project CARS is just different, or if my upper body strength is just inferior (probably some combination of all four). I definitely need to look into properly adjusting my pedals, though. And getting used to using an actual clutch pedal instead of a button.
I feel alive using this thing, though, I can tell you that.
